Growing up, we were not allowed to have anything non-organic or junkie, so when I moved on my own at 18 for college, I was all WOOO! SODA! CHIPS! FAST FOOD! PARTY! Then it become a struggle. Shortly after our wedding, my husband was diagnosed with Celiac disease so our world was a little rocked, and we had to begin a gluten free lifestyle at home. That was really my ingredient eye-opener, and when I started preparing most everything from scratch at home (sauces, marinades, etc.). Of course, a couple of years later, I became a parent -- and who has the TIME to make things ahead of time anymore? 99% of the food we bring into our home IS organic (as someone with Celiac, the antibiotics in even premium non-organic meats and milks were making my husband sick -- and I just want my son to eat organic) and I try to devote as much time as possible on weekends to making things ahead of time -- like shredding my own cheese to store, or making my own breadcrumbs from actual bread and freezing them. There are times I slip up here and there, but it kind of falls into a routine at some point.

I'm interested in reading more about the real food challenge you wrote about!Lindsayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18101932639543215210noreply@blogger.com
